Frederick McGinnis, age 75, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Bellevue Hospital.
He was born October 6, 1939 in Fremont, the son of Andrew and Marion (Topel) McGinnis.
Fred served in the US Army and retired from Whirlpool in 2003. He was a member of Eagles #490, Bellevue and American Legion, Sandusky. Fred was known for decorating for the holidays. He enjoyed gardening and walking his dog, Rudy.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, whom he married November 22, 1979 in Clyde; sons David (Cindy) McGinnis, Fremont; and Jerry (Sherri) Risner, Bellevue; daughters Lista (Scott) Stewart, Norwalk; Princetta (Dennis) Farmer, Castalia; grandchildren Josh Stewart, Matt Stewart, Kaden Risner, Mike McGinnis, Taylor Farmer, and Tyler Farmer; great grandchildren Robert Stewart, Jr., Cory Stewart, and Emma Stewart; brother Ronald McGinnis and beloved pets Rudy, Angel and Tobey.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Trevan Farmer and grandmother, Olive Topel.
Friends will be received Friday, March 13, 2015 from 10:00 am until the funeral begins at 11:00 am, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery with military honors observed.
