Donald M. Roeser, age 80, of Castalia died Friday morning, April 8, 2011 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 3, 1930 in Sandusky and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1948. He worked for Philco Corp. in Sandusky for 13 years then he went to work for Ford Motor Co. for 28 years and finally retired in 1991. Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky, VFW Post 2925, Bellevue Eagles, Moose Lodge, the NRA, and was a former member of the IAB Club, Sandusky. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Betty (Miller) Roeser; three daughters Linda Roeser, Cindy (Dan) Griffin, and Lisa (Steve) Olmstead; seven grandchildren Emily (Chris), Jen (Jay), Erin (Derrick), Nicole (Ben), Korey (John), Steven, and Kaitlin; three great grandchildren Hailey, Belle, and Addison; two sisters MaryAnn (Bernie) Neidler and Donna (Ron) Dority; two brothers Kenneth (Pam) Roeser and Marvin (Betty Lou) Roeser; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elsie Nagel Roeser; daughter Debra Ann; and two brothers Wayne and John Roeser.
Friends may call from 2-8 PM, April 10, 2011, Sunday at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St,. Castalia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
