Loretta V. (Polter)(Hodgkinson) Stamm, age 96, residing in Huron, and formerly of Castalia, went home to be with the her Lord, Sunday morning, March 15, 2015, at the Meadows of Osborn Park, Huron.
She was born March 16, 1918, to Herman and Mary (Cole) Polter in Fremont, OH.
Loretta was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, the women of the church, Moose Club 329, and Caldron 60 of the Grotto. She was a representative of AVON for 26 years, and she was a lifelong member of the last Wednesday of the Month Card Club, the VFW women's group, and the National Women's Relief Corps.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Howard Stamm; her daughter Virginia (Walter) Agsten, Huron; two grandchildren David (Dawna) Agsten and Robert (Erika) Agsten; five great grandchildren; step son David (JoAnn) Stamm; step daughter Wilma (Bobby) Pollen; eight step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; sister in-law Dawn (Robert) Polter, AZ; niece Marty (Kermit) Rufsvold, TX; nephew Tim (Heather) Hodgkinson, Castalia; and several other nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by first husband Harlin R. Hodgkinson, to whom she was married for 30 years; her parents; two brothers Robert and Ralph Polter; nephew James Polter; and step son John Stamm.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Renovation Fund.
