Norman R. Boesch, 86, Sandusky, died on Monday, April 4, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on April 12, 1924 in Sandusky, and was a 1942 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS O'Ryan during WWII. Norman retired from Gilbert Heating and Cooling after several years of service. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sandusky, American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, Amvets Post 17, and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey (Alton) Boesch; sons, Terrence Lee (Agnes) Boesch, Sandusky, and Alton John "Al" (Patricia) Boesch, St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Kristopher Boesch, Jared Boesch, and Tara Frost; four great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfons and Elizabeth (Hemmer) Boesch; grandson, Mike Boesch; brother, Harold Boesch; and a sister, Agnes Kearsley.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 11 A.M. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. Rev. Gary Ulrich will officiate. The American Legion Post 83 will provide military honors after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
