Thelma L. Philon, 87, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on July 16, 1927 in Lismond, AL.
Thelma was employed by the Sandusky Board of Education.
She was a member of the former Evening Light Church of God, and loved to be with her family.
She is survived by her children, Charles Philon, Rickey Philon, Barbara Arlene Philon-Caffey, and Kenneth (Robin) Philon all of Sandusky; step-son, Edward J. Philon, Birmingham, AL; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three cousins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gentle Philon; parents, Akra and Annie (Lumbus) Merrida; daughter, Thelma Jean Davis; son, Gentle "Tim" Philon; granddaughters, Nicole Sheree Williams and Latoya Katrish Taylor; and siblins, siblings, Carrie Crosby, Willie James Merrida, Eula Lee Howard, Jessie Pearl Forrest, and Dessarine Merrida.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Pastor Randy Lee Philon, nephew, will be the eulogist. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
