Harriet Lucille Moore, 94, residing in Huron, and formerly of rural Sandusky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 2015 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Harriet was born on June 15, 1920 in Whitehouse, OH to the late Clyde and Ethel (Fisher) Meister.
Harriet graduated from Whitehouse High School. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregation in Sandusky and was active in the church's Quilting Club. Harriet was employed by the former Steuk's Winery & Fruit Market where she made applesticks and wine for many years. She also worked in home health care for many years before retiring at the age of 77. She was a very dedicated worker, who never missed a day of work.
Harriet is survived by her daughters, Barbara Wightman of Castalia, Renee Keller of Norwalk, and Eileen (Guy) Bauman of Chehalis, WA; son, Todd Moore of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Jonathon, Rachel, Leah, Lauren, Benjamin, Todd and Craig; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Bockleman of Defiance, OH and Audrey Dickes of IL; brother, Robert (Eleanor) Meister of Toledo, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon G. Moore in 1965; sisters, Gladys Box, Lillian Snyder, Onalee Stevens and Josephone Finkenbiner; brothers, Marvin and Marion Meister and an infant brother, Leslie.
Friends may call on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Pastor Philip Gardner presiding. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.
