Raymond B. Blystone, Sr., 88, of New London, Ohio, passed away in the Laurels of New London, Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
He was born April 12, 1926 in Berlin Township, Erie County, Ohio, to the late John B. and Anna A. (Merrill) Blystone.
Ray was raised in Norwalk, Ohio, and had lived in Colorado, and Lima, Ohio before moving to New London. He was a lifelong truck driver. Ray was a former member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio, and the V.F.W. in Spencerville, Ohio. He enjoyed horses, tinkering, and repairing.
Ray is survived by his children, Raymond B. (Susan) Blystone, Jr. of Wakeman, Ohio, Anna (Richard) Wiles of Wakeman, Ohio, Virginia (Ollie) Poe of Norwalk, Ohio, Brenda (John) Smith of Bucyrus, Ohio, Susanne Blystone of Toledo, Ohio, and Becky Lynn (Roger) Mowrey of Norwalk, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne Taft of Downing, Idaho.
Ray was preceded in death by his sons, Eugene "Genie" Blystone, and Robert Goodsite, by his brothers, Frank, Richard, and Charles Blystone, by his sister, Grace Butler, and by 4 grandchildren, Theresa R. Blystone in 1999, Raymond B. Blystone III in 1982, Bobby Joe Alexander in 1985, and Shawnetta Eastman in 1970, and by his great grandson, Aaron Eastman in 1995.
At Ray's request, there will be no calling hours or service. Inurnment will be in Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
