Katherine M. Collins age 89 of Bellevue passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Bellevue Care Center.
She was born Nov. 17, 1921 in Bellevue the daughter of the late Russell & Marian (Connors) Matz. Katherine was a 1939 graduate from Bellevue High School. She then graduated from St. Vincent's Charity Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse working at the Bellevue Hospital and Dr. Kuhn's office and retiring as plant nurse at General Electric, Bellevue Lamp Plant. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include her sons, Owen "Scooch" (Kathy) Collins of Bellevue, Patrick (Monica) Collins of Sandusky, Daniel Collins of Columbus, Daughter, Margaret Kuns of Lorain, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister-in-law Patricia Duffin and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Owen Collins, Jr. whom she married February 18, 1943 at Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue; He preceded her on October 21, 1982. Her sisters, Margaret Ellen �Margie� Arndt and Marian Susan "Sue" Van Horn preceded her in death.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
