Anna S. (Holt) Hoehne, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully into Heaven with her beloved George to greet her, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Anna was born on May 16, 1932 in Bengough, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Gustav and Mabel Holt.
She was a 1950 graduate of Bengough High School and also graduated from the School of Business, Belfour Tech., Regina, Saskatchewan. She attended the College of Social Work at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Branch, and was employed by the Government of Canada in the Civil Service Commission, as well as serving as the Director of the Receiving Home, social welfare for the government of Sasktchewan.
She married George Hoehne on June 2, 1956 and they moved to Sandusky in August of 1957. She worked at Kiddie College, Robert J. Kromer, D.O., and Home Medical Systems, all of Sandusky, before enjoying retirement.
Anna put the needs of others before her own. She was a selfless individual that made it her duty to help someone in need. Her family and the city of Sandusky lost the work of a saint, but gained a guardian angel. Anna will continue to touch the minds and hearts of people for many more moments.
Anna was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She and her husband delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Anna's priority was providing a loving home for her family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cindi Haney; grandsons, Andy, Jay, and Brad, all of Lewis Center, Ohio; brother, Dewey (Adele) Holt, of Calgary AB, Canada; nieces and nephews in Canada; brother-in-law, Ludvig Boehmig; sister-in-law, Hannelore (Jacob) Neff; and their families, all who reside in Oldenwald, Germany.
In addition to her husband, George, who died on May 20, 2013, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, George "Butch," who died on July 24, 2008; and a brother, Henry.
Friends may call on Friday, April 17 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and again on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A luncheon at church will immediately follow the service. Private burial will be on Monday, April 20 in Africa Cemetery, Lewis Center, where Anna will be laid to rest next to her husband and son.
