Brooks Deant'e Cornnell Hampton, 31, Sandusky, departed this life on Monday,April 11, 2011.
He was born on February 6, 1980 in Sandusky, to Elaine Hampton and Willie Marshall, and was a 1999 graduate of Sandusky High School and attended Cleveland State University. Brooks was a former employee of Whirlpool in Clyde. He loved sports - basketball was his favorite, enjoyed music, and spending time with his children and family.
He is survived by his mother, Elaine Hampton, Louisville, KY; father, Willie (Pat) Marshall, Sandusky; children, Brooklynn Hampton, Taeva Spradlin, and Brannon Hampton; brothers, Bricen Hampton, Carlen Marshall, Willie (Proof) Marshall, LaTham Marshall, Joe Keys, Jonathan Marshall, Willie (Popeye) Marshall, Larry Keys, Sr., and Antonio Marshall; sisters, Vera Gordon, Andrea Grant, Lisa Dickerson, LaTonia Garrett, Tamara Moultrie, and Kizzy Hampton; maternal grandfather, Willie Hampton; special aunts, Harlene, JoAnn, Bonnie, Doreen, Lisa, and Donna; special uncle-dad, Eugene Moore; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Melna Hampton; paternal grandparents; and brother, Herman Moore, III.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 17, 2011, from 7-9 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 Noon in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St., Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
