Virginia Theresa Nugent, 86, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, May 4, 2015 at The Portland House, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 8, 1928 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Edward and Anna (Ehrnsberger) Browne.
Virginia was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was employed by Chrystler Plastics as an inspector for 28 years before retiring in 1993. She was a very social and fun loving individual who lived her life through her strong faith in Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Sadie. She was a friend to everyone she met; a stranger to no one. Her infectious smile touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her son, Bartt Carruthers; daughters, Hallie (Marvin) Wade and Carrie (Terry) Wade all of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Keith (Angie), Amanda (Jason), Rebecca, Kyle, and Alexis; six great-grandchildren, Michael, Abbie, Devin, Carson, Jerret, Alayna; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Nugent; brothers, Edward, Eugene, Charles, Joseph and Richard and her sister, Antoinette Turinsky.
Friends may call, Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory are handling the arrangements.
