Samuel Thomas Fiske II

Samuel Thomas Fiske II, 57, Sandusky, departed this life unexpectedly Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in Lutheran Memorial Nursing Home, Sandusky.

He was born October 5, 1957, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the union of Samuel and Leatha (Moore) Fiske. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1977.

Samuel known as "Tom" by family and friends was employed by Akil for 18 years. He was a dedicated member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age, under the direction of Emeritus Pastor Curtis A. Brown. He participated in the youth guilds, Sunday school, BTU (Baptist Training Union) and also Easter and Christmas programs. He loved spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. If you knew "Tom" you automatically had laughter in you, because he knew how to take a situation and turn it to joy and laughter. Samuel "Tom" Fiske we will miss your peaceful and joyous spirit.

Samuel leaves to cherish his memory five daughters, Geovanna (Eric) Jones, Albany, GA; Tenisha Fiske and Aubrey Wilson, both of Sandusky; Samaria and Samantha Fiske both of St. Louis, Mo., and one son Talib Garrett also of Sandusky. Granddaughters Syria Bell and Selena Cherry of St. Louis, Mo, Taliyah Farris and Genesis Garrett of Sandusky; grandsons Amir Jones of Albany, GA; Jordan, Jeremiah, and Jrue Spearman all of Sandusky; his mother Leatha Fiske, Sandusky; stepfather Benny Rollison, Sandusky; sisters Terri Price, Tonya Morris, both of Sandusky, Tammy Newton, Lorain, and Katrice Matthews, Atlanta, GA,; brothers Michael Lopez, Swansea, Mass; and Eric Rollison and Tony Rollison, both of Lorain; three uncles Herman (Vera) Moore, Delonce Fiske, Ervin Rollison, all of Sandusky; William Fiske of Lorain; four aunts, Emma Moore, Betty Lou (Douglas) Gowdy and Linda Fiske, all of Sandusky, and Carol (Homer) White, Cleveland; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins along with great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his two sons Damarrius Sherman and Samuel Fiske III; granddaughter, Essence Taylor; his father, Samuel T. Fiske, Sr., sister, Renita Fiske; brother Vincent Rollison; paternal grandparents, William and Louise Fiske, Leroy and Eunice Rollison; maternal grandparents Bessie (Moore) Stone, Robert Moore Sr. and Charlie Stone; great grandmothers, Mary Hicks and Lidia White; uncles, Robert Moore Jr., Dave Fiske, and Melvin Fiske; aunts, Doris Doster, Lula Mae Wilson, Cora Jean Surry and Barbara Collins; and great aunts, Cora Pryor and Minnie Mills.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 11:00 AM until time of the Home Going Celebration at 1:00 PM, in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
