Donald (Gene) DeVault, 83, resident of Kingston Assisted Living, Perrysburg, formerly of Bellevue, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, OH, May 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 18, 1932, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Howard Russell and Mary Arcillia (Smith) DeVault. He graduated from Dillonvale High School in 1950.

Donald was an army veteran, proudly serving during the Korean War. On May 16, 1954, he married the love of his life, Nancy Pfeiffer, and they were devoted to caring for each other throughout their sixty years together.

Don worked as a clerk for the Nickel Plate, Norfolk and Western, and Norfolk and Southern Railroads for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved fishing and gardening. He enjoyed attending all the musical and sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

Donald will be greatly missed and is survived by his children, Gail (Keith) Moyer of Tiffin, Gary of Wooster, Mary (Steve) Dudley of Perrysburg, and Michael of Dayton; six grandchildren, Ben (Diane) Moyer, Christina (Dennis) Simmons, Daniel (Gretchen) Moyer, Samuel (Shawna) Moyer, Brian Dudley and Jessica Dudley; eight great-grandchildren, Reagan, Margaret and Jacob Moyer, Jael and Adeline Simmons, Lydia and Simon Moyer, and Savannah Moyer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, sisters, Dora Faye and Mae Dressel, and brothers, Howard and Richard DeVault.

Friends will be received at 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Foos and Foos Funeral Home, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to the Bellevue Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
