Daniel "Dan" P. Neuman

Daniel "Dan" P. Neuman, 46, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly, due to complications from muscular dystrophy, Monday, May 11, 2015, at his residence.

He was born on August 26, 1968 in Sandusky.

Dan received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, and his MBA from Ashland University.

He was the Chief Financial Officer for the former Neuman Boat Lines, and worked as a Certified Financial Planner for Meryll Lynch and Met Life Preferred Client Group.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and Sandusky Yacht Club. Dan loved sports, boating, watching life on Sandusky Bay, and was known for his jokes, his zest for life, his upbeat attitude, and never giving up.

He is survived by his daughter, Becca Hill, Maumee, OH; mother, Virginia (Maag) Neuman, Sandusky, father, John Neuman, Marblehead; sisters, Carolynne (Dante) Zettler, Huron, and Anne (Ryan Fetzer) Riggs, Wooster, OH; brother, Michael (Jennifer) Neuman, Sandusky; nieces and nephews, Bethany Zettler, Eli Zettler, Nathaniel Zettler, Sarah Riggs, Andrea Riggs, and Marina Neuman; his extended circle of close friends, that he considered family; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Lola Neuman, and Oliver and Janet Maag.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 11 A.M. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Ralph Schibler will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Oakland Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the Sandusky Sailing Club, 742 E. Water St. at 1 P.M. on Thursday, for continued fellowship.

Memorial contributions in Dan's name may be made to the Erie County Board of DD, 4405 Galloway Rd., Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Sailing Club.
