Valcie Wayne Jacobs, 81, of Bellevue was called home on May 17, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 9, 1933 in Leon, West Virginia the son of Osa (Pullins) and Golden Jacobs.
Valcie lived in southern Ohio for 16 years before moving to Fostoria and then to Flat Rock in 1952. He was a 1951 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School. After high school, Valcie joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Valcie retired from the N&W Railroad after 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Moose, Eagles, American Legion and the VFW where he served as Past Commander.
He was also a member of the United Transportation Union and the former Club Amer-Ital. He was a previous pool league President and enjoyed playing bocce, dart ball, and was one of the best card players in Bellevue enjoying Euchre, Pinochle, and Tonk. Valcie also enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoying the adventures of hunting in southern Ohio and fishing in Canada.
On April 4, 1959 Valcie married Anna Lee (Bolen) Jacobs, she survives. He is also survived by his four children: Delmar (Cyndie Sberna) Jacobs of Bellevue, Ronnie Jacobs of Flat Rock, Keith Jacobs - Mary Jo Jacobs of Bellevue and Tammy (Walt) Sberna of Bellevue; Two brothers, Tom (Mildred) Jacobs of Republic, and Jim (Vi) Jacobs of North Baltimore; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Jacobs, and great grandson, Tyler Michael Zahel.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 2-8 p.m., a Fraternal Order of Eagles service will be conducted at 7 pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Rusty Yost will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.
