Duane K. Keegan, aka Dewey, age 67, of Castalia, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his residence.
He was born November 26, 1947, in Sandusky, and was a 1966 graduate of Margaretta High School, where he played football and basketball.
He was employed by Mosser Construction for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. He served in the National Guard. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed playing cards, golf, and all the Cleveland sports teams.
Duane is survived by his wife, the former Abbie Young, to whom he was married for 22 years; daughter Mackenzie Keegan; two sons Keith "Angie" Keegan of Oak Harbor, and Kyle "Kelly" Keegan of Amherst; two granddaughters Addison and Elaina; 3 grandsons Kory, Kameron, and Collin; two sisters Dianne Farrar of Sandusky, and Mary Ann "Kevin" Lindsley of Castalia; 4 brothers Mark Keegan of Sandusky, Dean "Diane" Keegan, and Dan "Shelly" Keegan both of Castalia; and Jeff "Bernard" Keegan of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Amelia (Dauch) Keegan.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, May 29, 2015, in the Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Services for the family will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015. The Rev. Catherine Schibler will officiate. Cremation will follow.
