Donald E. Mowry, Sr.

Donald E. Mowry, Sr., 77, of New London, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015 in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 22, 1937 in Vickery, Ohio to the late Dale and Margaret (Hall) Mowry.

Don lived in Norwalk, Ohio most of his adult life where he was the owner of Don Mowry Flexo, Inc. for over 25 years. He began his career in the corrugated industry at Westvaco Company in Sandusky, Ohio. Don established Don Mowry Flexo in 1977, where he developed several patents in the corrugated industry. He was an icon in the corrugated industry and traveled around the world sharing his knowledge and expertise. He enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, traveling, collecting and working on Oliver and Minneapolis Moline tractors. Don was a member of the Norwalk Eagles, Aerie 711, and former member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks and Moose clubs.

He is survived by his former wife, Joyce D. (Baker) Mowry, Monroeville, Ohio, by his daughters, Cynthia (Ron) Grover, of Republic, Ohio, Georgia (Greg) Brooks of Monroeville, Ohio, and Margaret (Doug) Hardy of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his sons, Donald (Sue) Mowry, Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio, and Danny (Joann) Mowry of Norwalk, Ohio.

Don is also survived by his wife, Nancy E. (Chilcote) Mowry, Norwalk, Ohio, by his step daughters, Katrina Dickman, and Kimberly Bussart, by his step sons, Krist Bussart, and Kelly (Francis) Bussart, 10 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, by his sisters, Alice Knauer, Edith Gray, and Rita (Don) Kibler, and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his second wife, Brenda (Jackson) Mowry, by his brother, Dale Mowry, Jr., by his sisters, Emily Quinn, and Joanne Andrews, by his grandson, Brent Marett.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron Township, Ohio.
