Lawrence A. Lasch, Sr., 73, of Monroeville went to be with his heavenly father Monday morning, June 8, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 22, 1941 in Norwalk and was a 1959 graduate of Monroeville High School.
He is a US Army Veteran, serving in Berlin, Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. Larry was a truck driver for more than 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville, American Legion Post #547, where he had served as commander from 2005 thru 2007, VFW Post #2743, Norwalk, Norwalk Eagles Aerie #711 and had been a charter representative with the Boy Scout Troop #239 in Monroeville. Larry was honored to be the Grand Marshall of the Monroeville Memorial Day Parade, he was an avid sports fan rooting for Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved playing cards and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou (Kowalsky); children, Lorrie Dragon of Monroeville, Lou Anne (Tom) Sitterly of Monroeville, Lawrence "Allen" (Andrea) Lasch, Jr. of Sandusky, Ramie S. (Rick) Lodwick of Williamsburg, VA; eight grandchildren, Miranda, Ryan (Casey), Jared, Lyndsey, Anthony, Savannah, Sebastian and Seaton; two brothers, James Lasch of Findlay and Henry "Hank" Lasch of Sandusky; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter S. and Catherine H. (Schaub) Lasch; one grandson, Colin; and brother, Robert Lasch.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Nathan Bockrath will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
