Louise V. "Irene" Peters, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, June 12, 2015 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, OH after a lengthy illness.
Louise was born on June 6, 1933 in Salyersville, KY to the late Oscar and Panzy (Carty) Howard.
She worked at the former Hills and Ames Department store for 34 years in Sandusky, OH where she lived most of her life.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Truetta (Dennis) Ealy; grandchildren, Jason, Joseph, Chad (Rhonda), Danny and Tammy (Tom); 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Akel (Mary) Howard and Darrell (Regina) Howard; sisters, Yvonne Lovely, Delta Bantz, Janice (Albert) Jordan, Viola Minex and Ossetta Whitley and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Novak; son, George Douglas Gibson; sisters, Mary Howard and Doshie Keeton.
Friends may call on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
