Joyce Emmons Felske, 81, of Castalia passed away Friday morning, April 22, 2011 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
She was born January 1, 1930 in Memphis Tennessee. Joyce was a 1948 graduate of Margaretta High School and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She was employed as a secretary for the Margaretta Public School system for 23 years. After her retirement, she dedicated her life to help caring for her grandchildren and great grandchild. They were her life. Joyce was known in the community for always being there to lend a helping hand and having an open home to everyone. She enjoyed her get togethers with high school classmates and luncheons with her friends.
She is survived by her husband; Alton “Bud” Felske whom she was married to for over 60 years, one daughter; Deborah Hasenmeier, Huron, one son; Daniel (Julie) Felske of Pickerington, 2 grandchildren; Garrett Felske and Jaclynne Felske and a special granddaughter in law, Carie Zimmerman, great grandson; Trenton A. Zimmerman and one sister Sue (Don) Zenser, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Marjorie Keiser, stepfather; Daniel Keiser, father; John Monteath and a grandson; Trevor A. Zimmerman.
Friends may call Monday, April 25, 2011 from 4-8:00 PM at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington Street, Castalia, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2011. The Reverend Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Castalia Cemetery.
