Patricia "Pat" Jane (Mielke) Williams, 66, residing in Huron, passed away Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a long battle with cancer.
Pat was born on September 27, 1948 in Sandusky, OH to the late Robert and Eleanor (Bates) Mielke.
Pat graduated from Perkins High School in 1966 and received her master's degree in education from Bowling Green State University. She was a teacher and a Title 1 Reading Coordinator in the Margaretta school district until her retirement in 2003. Pat was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky.
She enjoyed cycling, skiing and riding horses, which she did most of her life. Pat was very involved in the Sandusky Ski Club's year round activities and held various positions on the board. She enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to most of the National Parks. Her vacationing took her across the majority of the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii as well as abroad. Pat was a very adventurous person, and had been scuba diving in shipwrecks, snorkeling in reefs, sky diving, parachuting, hang-gliding, parasailing, zip lining, rappelling, and had gone on nearly a dozen cruises.
Pat is survived by her husband, Lawrence "Larry" Williams. She is also survived by her children, Brad Riggle, Becky Angeles and Matthew Riggle; 2 grandchildren, Annabelle and Abram Joel "AJ" Angeles; brothers, James, Paul, Daniel, and Allan Mielke.
Friends may call on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Father Michael Roemmele presiding.
A luncheon reception for family and friends will be held at the American Legion, 3615 State Route 4 (S. Hayes Ave.), Sandusky following the funeral on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
In support of Pat and her love for horses and western attire, we invite you wear denim and boots for the visitation, funeral service and luncheon.
