Arnold Lively

Arnold Lively, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.

Arnold was born on January 4, 1921 in Hoxie, AR to the late Theodore and Florence (Copeland) Lively.

Arnold graduated from Paragold High School in 1938. He was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed at the Sears Roebucks & Company and retired in 1983 after 36 years of service. During retirements he worked part time for Carpet Town and later Flooring America. Arnold was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the AMVETS, American Legion Post 83 and former life member of the Elks Lodge.

Arnold is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Randall) Grenier of Sandusky; son, Richard (Shelly Hogan) Lively of Huron; grandchildren, Ryan (Kelley) Lively of Roswell, GA, Cori (Joe) Dike of Huron, and Jeff Grenier of Sandusky; 5 great-grandchildren; nephew Paul Steele; numerous nieces and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Schild) Lively on March 16, 2011; sisters, Frances Steele and Bernadine Morell; brother, Lloyd; twin brothers, Leon and Leo and 2 brothers in infancy.

He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also visit on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of funeral services at 10:00 am at First Congregational U.C.C., 431 Columbus Ave., Sandusky with Rev. Lenore Kure presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
