Leonard (Lenny) H. Wood, Jr.,

Leonard (Lenny) H. Wood, Jr., 58, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Monday, July 6, 2015, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a long courageous battle with colon cancer.

He was born May 28, 1957, in Covington, OH, and moved to Sandusky in 1975.

He was a custom cabinet maker and worked for area cabinet shops until his failing health. He took a lot of pride in his wood working skills, and I'm sure he is talking to God right now about installing raised panel walls, crown molding, and dental blocks in Heaven.
Lenny enjoyed cooking and was a member of the National Chili Society, and placed second in his first chili competition. He loved motocross, fishing, and the outdoors. He and his wife Karen were avid morel mushroom hunters, and loved vacationing in Key West with their good friends Dave and Jessie. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Until we meet again Babe, you are only a breath away.

Lenny is survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years Karen (Kammer) Wood; one daughter Karastin Rudolph; one son Adam Eversole; one sister Diana (Tom) Turman; half brother Win Wollier; four grandchildren Peyton Eversole, Cole, Dylan, and Kamrie Rudolph.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard H. and Carol E. (Jones) Wood, Sr.

Cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to the Humane Society of Erie Co., 1911 Superior Sr., Sandusky, OH 44870.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ransomfuneralhome.com.

Thanks to everyone at Stein Hospice Care Center for their care and compassion, and a special thanks to Dr. Graham, Cheryl, Mike, and Katherine for helping our family through this difficult time.
