Mary Ann Creamer

Mary Ann Creamer, 54, of Sandusky, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by her sisters on Monday, July 20, 2015 after a battle with cancer.

Mary Ann was born on May 16, 1961 in Torrington, Connecticut to Shirley (O'Brien) and James Creamer.

In 1979, she graduated from Norwalk St. Paul High School (Norwalk, Ohio) and in 1983 graduated from the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a degree in Education. Creamer also earned a Master's Degree in Education from Ashland University.

Creamer was the founder and Executive Director of Teen Leadership Corps., an academic service leadership program for high schools. Teen Leadership Corps is the only 501 (c) 3 non-profit in the country established to provide schools with the educational training, instructional resources and financial means necessary to implement a successful academic student leadership course for high school students. Prior to founding TLC, Creamer spent 13 years teaching service learning at the secondary level in Huron, Ohio. The service-leadership program she taught was the largest in the state of Ohio, and her students were recognized as Ohio's outstanding peer team. In addition, Mary Ann was voted Outstanding Educator of the Year, was chosen by her students to be published in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers, and was a member of the Congressional Youth Leadership Council. Mary Ann was recently inducted into St. Paul High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in recognition for her work with Teen Leadership Corps.

Mary Ann's grandparents, Helen & Michael Creamer, Clara & Thomas O'Brien, along with her father, James Creamer preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Shirley Creamer; her brothers Jim (Patti) and John (Molly) Creamer; her sisters, Catherine (Charlie) Haddad, Christine (Jeff) Marsella and Colleen (Marc) Ward; eight nephews - Sean and Jimmy Creamer, Jack Haddad, John, Ryan & Jack Marsella, and Jimmy & Christian Ward; eight nieces - Lauren, Caroline & Annemarie Creamer, Claire & Kelleen Haddad, Kelly Marsella, and Mary Kate & Gracie Ward, many beloved cousins from the O'Brien and Creamer families, and countless dear friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Ken Morman will officiate. Burial will take place on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, Sandusky are handling the arrangements.
