Joan Ruth (Carlson) Manders, 82, residing in High Springs, FL and formerly a longtime resident Huron, OH, passed away June 28, 2015 after a brief illness.
Joan was born February 5, 1933 in Lorain, OH to the late John and Julia (Schmidt) Carlson.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School and attended modeling school in Detroit, MI. She also enjoyed a brief modeling career. She was an avid reader and homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Joan is survived by her sons, Gregory (Donna) Manders of High Springs, FL and Scott (Ursula) Manders of Falls Church, VA; grandsons, Alex, John, Ryan, Marc, Cameron and Evan Manders; granddaughters, Lisa and Sarah Manders; one great-granddaughter, Liliana Manders and many other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald Manders.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron with Rev. Robert Bottoms presiding.
