Phyllis M. Zeigler, 71, Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 23, 1940 in Biloxi, MS and was a 1958 graduate of Harrison Central High School. Phyllis graduated with honors and was a member of the honor society all 4 years.
She was employed by Norwalk Furniture for 31 years and was the supervisor of the cutting and sewing room, retiring in 2003.
Phyllis was an avid reader, loved crocheting, gardening, flowers, and she especially loved her dog, Mr. Pooter. She also was a member of the National Beta Club and attended classes at Firelands College.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Linda) Mathias, Norwalk, Michelle Mathias, Willard, and Susan Heisler, Norwalk; her precious jewels, grandchildren, Kaleigh Mathias, Willard, Autumn Heisler, Cincinnati, and Trevor Heisler, Norwalk; sisters, Evelyn MacRae, Canada, Donna Kynard and Peggy Bothwell, both of Florida; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Birdie (Wheat) Allen; sister, Ruby Thibadoux; and brothers, Roger Allen, Ernest Allen, and Daniel Ray Allen.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. Burial will be in Hester cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
