Demetrio "Red" D. Ramon, 93, of Berlin Heights, passed away on Saturday evening, July 25, 2015 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
He was born on October 31, 1921 in Orange Grove, Texas to the late Agapito and Francisca (Diaz) Ramon.
He was employed by the former New Departure for many years. Demetrio loved gardening and farming work. He was a member of the Sandusky Eagles, and loved to travel and go antiquing with his wife. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Demetrio is survived by his son, Harry McClusky, of Sandusky; daughters, Anita Hillis, of Norwalk, Laura Brake, of Clyde, Bonnie Zimmerlin, of Phoenix, AZ, Julie (Brian) Hipp, of Berlin Heights, and Jana Ramon, of Arkansas; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Ramon, in 2010; son, Dennis Ramon; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. A luncheon will then be served in the Toft Event Room.
