Larry E. Dahm, 71, residing in Sebring, FL and Sandusky, passed away with family by his side on July 18, 2015, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Florida after a fierce but short battle with liver cancer.
He was born on August 26, 1943, in Fremont, Ohio. The family later moved to Sandusky, Ohio, where he graduated from Sandusky High School.
Larry retired from Ford Motor Parts Plant in Sandusky, after 30 years of service. He was a United Auto Worker (UAW) retiree, and not only a strong advocate for his union, but all unions.
In addition, he was a member of Amvets Post 17 of Sandusky, Hog Harley Owners Group; American Legion Post 83, Sandusky; Car Coddlers Club; Post Card Club; and Dick Heads Club of Daytona Beach Florida. He was one of the original members of the Misfits Motorcycle Club in the mid-1960's.
He is survived by his son, Gary A. Dahm of Sandusky; brother, Bruce A. (Kathleen) Dahm, who shared his August 26 birthday, of New Caney, Texas; long-time companion, Julie Killian, of Sandusky; former brother-in-law, Charles Hedberg of Sandusky; two beautiful twin granddaughters, Stevie and Rily, and their big sister, Harley Thomas, of Amherst, OH; a nephew, Michael (Michelle) Hedberg of Orville, OH; and five nieces, Shelley Hedberg of Sandusky, Tonya (Tracy) Shilling of Huron, OH, Amy Dahm of Washington, DC, Christa (Greg) Pryor of Houston, Texas, and Katie Dahm of Chicago, Illinois; six great-nieces and nephews; and a loving community of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester E. and Emma (Staley) Dahm, and a sister, Sharon (Dahm) Hedberg.
Friends may call on Saturday, August 1, 2015, from 12 P.M. Noon until time of a Celebration of Life Service at 1 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Chaplain Jane Ann Clark will officiate. The American Legion Post 83 Color guard will conduct military honors.
