Harry G. Gumbert age 82 of Bellevue passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at The Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.  He was born Feb. 3, 1929 in Bellevue the son of the late William P. & Carrie M. (Higgins) Gumbert. 

Harry retired from New Departure Hyatt as a machinist after 46 years of service.  He was a member of Eagles aerie 490 where he was a past president, a member of it’s Anglers Club and the Flea’s.  Harry was a past deputy president of the Ohio Eagles, NW Zone, the Ohio State Eagles vice presidents club and was inducted into the Ohio Eagles Hall of Fame.  He was a life member of American Legion Liberty Post 46, VFW 1238, Bellevue Moose Lodge 238, UAW Local 913, lifetime member of Odd Fellows and member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Bellevue. 

Survivors include his daughter Pamela (Kevin) Siesel of Attica, special daughter, Jean (Tom ) King of Flat Rock, mother in law, Frances Bland of Attica, grandchildren, Jeremy King, Michael (Laurie) Risner, Robert King, Sr., Laura (John) Bullard and Tim Heibertshausen, great grandchildren, Evan & Elaina King, Bobby, Stephen & Zachary King, Harley & Trisha Bullard, Jamie & Brady Schafer and Cody Heibertshausen.  In addition to his parents his wife, June (Hetrick) Gumbert whom he married June 28, 1952 in Bellevue, sisters, Betty Mae Willis, Thelma Kistler, brother, David Gumbert and grand daughter Diana Heibertshausen preceded him in death. 

Friends will be received Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  The Eagles Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm.  The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. George Reed of St. Paul’s UCC Friday at 11:00 am at Foos and Foos Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
