Kenneth Lamont Pearson, Sr. "KP," 48, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.
He was born on March 6, 1967 in Sandusky to Arlene (Scarver) Pearson and the late Douglas MacArthur Pearson.
Kenny graduated from Sandusky High School and served in the United States Navy. He went to school at the Local 172 Iron Worker Apprenticeship/Journeyman Program, where he became a skilled welder for the Iron Workers District Council of Southern Ohio.
Kenny is survived by his mother, Arlene (Scarver) Pearson, of Montgomery, AL; three sons, Kenneth Lamont, Jr., Jermaine Lamont, and Jeremy Lamont, all of Sandusky; three daughters, Shanice Latres, of Sandusky, and Kodi Arlene and Kenae Merrie, of Ypsilanti, MI; five brothers, Scott Webb, Sr., Keith Alexander, Sr., Brandon Durr, Sr., and Aaron Pearson, all of Sandusky; two sisters, Darlene Alexander, of Oregon, and Annie (Jonah) Forte, of Akron; one granddaughter, Amecia Pearson; grandmother, Fannie Mae "Tiny" Ford, of Montgomery, AL; four uncles, LZ (Judy) Pearson, of Sandusky, Douglas (Vanessa) Ford, of Meridian, MS, Fisher (Velma) Scarver, of Montgomery, AL and Charlie Ford, of Tallassee, AL; two aunts, Mary Sallie (Avery) Walker, of Fayetteville, NC, and Dorothy Jean Ford, of Jersey City, NJ; a loving and devoted great-aunt, Mary Churchwell, of Sandusky; godparents, Theodis & Bea Beckum, of Sandusky; godson, Daishun Brown; best friend, Maurice "Pook" Brown; longtime friends, Marcus Boyd, of Montgomery, AL, and Eddie Felder and Johnny Ellis, of Florida; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his father, Douglas MacArthur Pearson, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman & Laura Alexander; great-grandfather, "Papa" Henderson Harris; great-grandmother, Annie Harris; aunt, Annie Pearson; uncles, Howard Harris, Sr., Robert Scott, Sr., and Curtis Ford; and cousins, Derrick Pearson, Darian Pearson, and Artis "Junie" Williams, III.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at Noon at Agape Love Ministries, 4013 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Bishop Clifton T. Jones, Sr. will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
