Etta Jo (Ferrell) Van Why, 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a lengthy illness.
Etta Jo was born on September 22, 1936 in Jackson, MI to the late Joseph B. and Etta Novella (Chapman) Ferrell.
She had been employed as a chef in area restaurants and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Etta Jo is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Jo Hollis, Deborah (Lee) Dresser and Sami (Robert) Warner all of Sandusky; sons, Richard (Jeannie) Van Why of Irvin, TX, Robert Van Why Jr., of Sandusky and James (Melody) Van Why of Lebanon, IN; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Etta Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Van Why Sr., on August 10, 2003; an infant son, Paul David; grandsons, Eric Sean and Joseph Paul; siblings, Barbara Ann Spicer, Thomas and Claude Ferrell and son-in-law, Robert O. Hollis.
Friends may call on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 am until the time of the funeral services at 12:30 pm at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd., Sandusky with Pastor David Brown presiding. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
