Donald "Don" J. Eastman, 68, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born on January 25, 1947, in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Ormand S. and Mary H. (Bores) Eastman.
Don was raised in Monroeville, Ohio, and graduated from Monroeville High School in 1965. Don then moved to Norwalk Ohio, where he lived for the duration of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard, where he served for 12 years, and received the Helping Hands Medal for his dedicated assistance during the blizzard of 1978. Don was a former employee of North Eaton IGA, Sparkle Market in Berlin Heights, Ohio, Eastman's Grocery Store, Milan, Ohio, Oglesby Construction, Norwalk, Ohio, and retired in 2014 from Gardner's Super Value, Norwalk, Ohio. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman, and loved the outdoors and nature. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and adored his dog, Doug.
Don is survived by his daughter, Tammy L. (Douglas Reese) Eastman, Norwalk, Ohio, by his sons, Mark A. (Dianna) Eastman, Fulton, MO, and Donald A. (Lyndsey) Eastman, Norwalk, Ohio, by his significant other, Donna Smith, Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Alyssa Garcia, Kayla Yost, Jason Reese, Joshua Reese, Erika Robbins, Dilan Robbins, Isaac Eastman, Rory Hart, Aaron Eastman, and Quinn Eastman.
He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Xavier and Braden Garcia, by his brother, Thomas O. (Marlene) Eastman, Norwalk, Ohio, by his sister, Janice (Howard) Smith, Norwalk, Ohio, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. A luncheon will follow calling hours at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1322 Settlement Road, Norwalk, Ohio.
