David A. Hunt, age 61, o f Monroeville, died Thursday afternoon, May 5, 2011 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 27, 1949 in Sandusky, and attended St. Paul Catholic School in Norwalk, and received his GED while serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 13 years, and prior to this had been a long haul semi truck driver for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Moots, to whom he was married for 35 years; 5 daughters Nikole M. "Brenda Lillo" Hunt of Willard, Angie T. "Troy" Slauter of Fostoria, Jodi M. "Joe" Hummel of Clyde, Sandra L. "Jim" Welch of Catawba Island, and Carrie A. "Ahmad" Najjar of Bellevue; two sons Walter D. Hunt of Bellevue, and David L. "Pamela" Hunt of Louisiana; 9 grandchildren; one soon to be great grandson Bryson Alan Williamson; one aunt Joan Carrasco; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret (Lawrence) Hunt, and one aunt Katherine Lawrence.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the Chapel at Oakland Cemetery, 2917 Milan Rd., Sandusky, followed by American Legion military services.
