Charles Dwight, 81, of Clyde passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at The Bellevue Hospital.
He was born June 10, 1934 in Sandusky, County the son of Henry J. and Geraldine Elizabeth (Hartley) Dwight.
A lifelong farmer Charles raised pigeons and sheep, and he loved being on his tractors. He was a member of the American Helmet Association, the York Producers 4-H, and Sheep associations. He also served as an advisor for 50 years with the Sandusky County 4-H.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Good), whom he married June 12, 1954 in Fremont; Three sons, Herbert H. (Sandy) Dwight of Clyde, Brian P. Dwight of New London, and Douglas C. Dwight of Clyde; Two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Lengyel of Wakeman and Susan E. Benfer of Port Clinton; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one brother: Jerry Dwight of North Fairfield; and two sisters, Nancy (Roger) Jenkins of Bellevue and Barbara Shirey of Willard.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, Sep 28, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 510 W. Maple St., Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
