Rita L. LaBonte, age 90, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, Sep. 24, 2015 at the St. Francis Elizabeth Schaeffer Apartments, Tiffin. She was born July 30, 1925 in Reed Township, OH the daughter of the late John E. & Frances (Scherley) Herman.
Rita retired from GE Bellevue Lamp Plant where she did quality control.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Altar Rosary Society, In Christ Prayer Group, Bellevue VFW Auxiliary and 4 County Young at Heart.
Survivors include her daughter; Marlene (fiancé Roger) Frederick of Fostoria, 2 grandchildren: Shawn (Debbie) Frederick and Carey (Jamie) Rasp, both of Fostoria; 5 great grandchildren; brothers; Victor Herman of Covina, CA, Marcus "Max" (Leona) Herman of Marywood, sisters; Agnes (Andy) Wilhelm of Centerville, MD, Mary Sberna of Las Vegas, NV and Sr. Beatrice Herman OSF/T of Tiffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Curly" Lodge; second husband, Christian LaBonte; sister, Eleanora Flicker; brothers: Richard Herman and Paul Herman; and great grandson, Seth Frederick.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
