Michael J. "Mike" Adelman, 65, of Monroeville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 30, 2015 in the Willard Mercy Hospital.
He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on July 24, 1950 to Alvin and Ruth (Michel) Adelman.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an active member and served as a lector to serve the church.
Mike was an avid Browns fan and loved being with his family. He was a very loyal public servant with several years on Monroeville Council, Mayor of Monroeville, and 10 years as Huron County Commissioner. He was also active with the Huron County Fair in which he always said, Ohio State might have the best darn band in the land, but Huron County had the best darn Fair.
On February 20, 1970 he married his high school sweetheart Melodie Leber. They were married for 45 years.
Mike is survived by his two daughters, Christine (Derek) Yeagley of Willard, Ohio and Cheryl (Jeff) Rarick of Norwalk, Ohio; three sons, Allan (Mackenzie) Adelman of Pataskala, Ohio, Dr. Ronald (Dr. Vanessa) Adelman of Plymouth, MI and Daryl (Julie) Adelman of New Philadelphia, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Kelsie and Kady Rarick, Elise and Gavin Adelman, Lucas Yeagley, Marcus, Alec, Lauren and Ella Adelman, Alexis, Cecelia and Beatrice Adelman; very special family friends Colonel David (Kim) Krebs; their daughters, Allison and Paige; Father-in-Law, Richard P. Leber of Willard, Ohio; four brothers, Dan (Carolyn) Adelman and David (Marcia) Adelman both of Monroeville, Raymond Adelman of New Washington, Ohio and Robert (Geri) Adelman of Willard, Ohio; two sisters, Amy (Steve) Clark of Shelby, Ohio and Ann (David) Beck of Monroeville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ruth Adelman; two brothers, Allan and Ronald Adelman; one niece and one great niece.
Friends may call today, October 2, 2015 from 11:00 AM- 8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ronald A. Schock will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
