Jack A. Bright, II, 61, of Catawba Island, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in his home after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Sandusky on February 28, 1954 to the late Jack A. Bright and Ilah M. (Lang) Bright, and was a graduate of Vermilion High School.
Jack recently worked serving senior citizens' needs around many counties in Ohio. Formerly, he worked in the food business, starting as a manager and trainer for Wendy's, and then managing at Fanny Baer's, the Sandusky Yacht Club, and Jimmy's Gotcha.
He loved all Cleveland sports - the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians - and the Ohio State Buckeyes. But more importantly, Jack lived and breathed boating.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kim Bright, whom he married on May 15, 1999; sons, Mitchell (Karen) Ayers and Adam (Monica) Ayers; grandchildren, Mariah, Trevor, Jordan, and Brookelyn Ayers, Darren Araguz, Ryan, Payton, Ayden, Alana, and Aldyn "Big Chum" Ayers; father, David O'Doherty; sister-in-law, Sherry Wirick; mother-in-law, Dana Graffice; brother-in-law, Larry Wirick; aunt, Mary Lang; best friend, Al Coffey; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and birth father; son, Matthew E. Ayers; and sister, Ilah Ann Christofel.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 4-7 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. at the funeral home on Wednesday. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Toft Event Room, and burial will be at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Twp., at 2:30 P.M.
