Terry W. Scurlock, age 69, of Castalia died Sunday morning, May 8, 2011, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 6, 1942 in Corning, OH. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1961 and served in the U.S. Air Force. Terry retired from New Departure in 2001 after 32 years. He was a member of the Sandusky and Bellevue Eagles, Sandusky Amvets and American Legion. Terry was an avid reader of westerns and mysteries.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Marlene (Hansen) Scurlock; daughter Tera (Eric) Scherer, Okinawa, Japan; three sons Bill Gonzales, Marysville; Brian (Wendy) Gonzales, Bellevue; and Joe (Tina) Gonzales, Avon Lake; six grandchildren Jessica Gonzales, Alyssa Myers, Seth Gonzales, Ashley Gonzales, Aaron Gonzales, and Travis Scurlock; one great granddaughter Lillian Meyers; one sister Sandra Scurlock, Georgia; numerous half brothers and half sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his father and step mother Frank and Mary Scurlock; birth mother Betty Buck; and two sisters Linda and Bonnie.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
