Eugene Bernard Sharp, Sr., age 79, of Clyde, went home to be with his Savior Sat. Morning, Oct. 10, 2015, in ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Crestline, and was a 1953 graduate of Margaretta High School.
He was employed by Providence Hospital, was a veteran in the U.S. Marines, and was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde.
Gene is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Lehrer, to whom he was married for 54 years; one daughter Susanna Gail (Pat) Schwacke of Sandusky; two sons George Norman (Juanita) Sharp of Milan, and Eugene Bernard (Bonita) Sharp, Jr. of Clyde; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother LeRoy (Judy) Sharp of Sandusky; his foster father Roland Windau of Castalia; 4 foster sisters Martha (Bob) Moser of Castalia, Kathy Bollini of Castalia, Susan (Gregg) Moore of Willard, and Barb (Greg) Siesel of Castalia; foster brother Gary Windau of Castalia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Susanna Sharp; 2 brothers; 6 sisters; his foster mother Margaret Windau; and his foster brother David Windau.
Friends may call from 10 AM Tues., Oct. 13, 2015, until time of services at 11 AM at the Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., Clyde. Pastor James Lewis, Jr. will officiate, and a luncheon will be served at the church after the service and before the burial at 1:30 PM in Sand Hill Cemetery. Marines Forever will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
