Virginia Louise (Ritchey) Hamlin, age 72, of Sandusky died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her son's home following a battle with cancer.
She was born April 14, 1939, in Fremont and was a graduate of Margaretta High School. She was a longtime area bartender and last worked at Maytag Laundry. Virginia was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sandusky, and was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous where she loved the fellowship very much.
She is survived by 2 sons Donald and Ronald "Tara" Gray both of Sandusky; 9 grandchildren Megan, Sebrina, Erica, Victoria, Kendal, Kyle, Erica, Emily, and Alexander; several great grandchildren; and 2 brothers Kenneth and Ernest "Loraine" Ritchey both of Lorian.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents William J. and Anna (Myers) Ritchey; 1 infant daughter Patricia Gray; 2 brothers William and George Ritchey; and 1 nephew George Ritchey Jr.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Friday, May 13, 2011, in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington Street, Castalia, where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate.
