Ann S. Giesler, 84, residing in Huron, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ann was born on November 17, 1930 in Owensville, MO to the late C. Ralph and Emma (Schaefer) Schmidt.
Ann received her Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1952 and her Law Degree in 1977 from the University of Toledo. She was the owner of Ann S. Giesler Law Firm and taught English at Sandusky High School. Ann was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a church elder and former Presbutory board member. She was also a member of the Erie County Bar Association (acting secretary), the Ohio State Bar Association, former Assistant Prosecutor of Erie County and former President of the local chapter of P.E.O. Ann loved to watch plays, sing in the church choir, gambling trips to Vegas and spending time with her family.
Ann is survived by her son, John (Dina) Giesler of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Morgan, John John, and Matthew; sister, Phyllis Reider of Findlay, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Harold William Giesler; son, Lawrence Ralph Giesler and brother, Ralph Schmidt.
Friends may call on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 265 Jackson St., Sandusky with Rev. Robert R. Bottoms presiding. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Elmore, OH.
