Michael Edwin Henderson, 60, of Sandusky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 5, 2015.
He was born on August 20, 1955 in Sandusky.
Michael retired from Thaker Aluminum (Vulcan Materials Co.) in 2011 after 40 years of employment. He was a very loving husband and a devoted father. He enjoyed traveling, was a competitive chess player, an avid sports fan, a grill master, and a collector of hats. He was very wise and loved to give advice, whether you wanted it or not! He mentored many children, seeing their potential, and encouraged them to be the best that they could be.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Carolyn (Jones) Henderson; two sons, Loren Mirese (Daisy) and Phillip Michael, both of Sandusky; sister, Tamara Gina (Dana) Taylor, of Toledo; brothers, Roy Allen (Katherine) Gant and Pastor Darrell Roland (Lisa) Gant, both of Sandusky; special aunt, Mildred Gant, of Sandusky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy B. and Anna Lou (Larry) Gant; father, Lee (Roberta) Henderson; sister, Joyce Ann Henderson; grandparents, Orange (Annie) Larry; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 10, from 6-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at Eagle's Nest Church, Intl., 2126 Pipe St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
