Raymond Bowman, Jr., 66, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in his home.
He was born in New London, Ohio on February 4, 1949, and graduated from New London High School in 1967.
He also graduated from The Ohio State Barber College in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1974, during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Sheller-Globe Corp. and Mayflower Corp. for 35 years, retiring in May 2010. He enjoyed watching western TV shows on TVLand, playing scratch-off lottery tickets, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy (Kirksey) Bowman; sisters, Joyce Harvey, of Lorain, Ohio and Karen Bowman-Marshall, of Norwalk; daughters, Katherine (Steve) Spearman, Rayna Bowman, Rachel Lyburtus, Shannon (Marlon) Cox, and Sharita Jones; sons, Lemond (Monica) Kirksey, Quran Bowman, and Jermiah (Leigh) Yockey; 22 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Bowman, Sr. and Theola Randleman; brothers, Jerry Shelton and Ronald Shelton; and sister, Donna Lee (Bowman) Brimmer.
Friends may call on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and again on Saturday at Second Baptist Church from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery with military honors.
