Robert "Bob" Smith, age 73, of Norwalk, died Saturday morning, November 14, 2015 at his residence.
He was born January 14, 1942 in Loudonville to the late Herbert B. and Flossie F. (Hazlett) Smith.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing dart ball and watching basketball and football. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose, Bronson-Norwalk Conservation Club, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his special friend and companion of 28 years, Frances Saxton of Norwalk; daughter, Teresa (Terry) Hoover of Big Prarie, OH; grandchildren, Travis McVay of Loudonville, OH and Brittany McVay of Big Prairie, OH; step grandchildren, Travis Hoover of Nashville, OH and Misty Hoover of Coshocton, OH; great-grandchildren, Bridget Umstead, Gage McVay, Zaylin McVay, Jaden Phillips, Samuel Hoover and D'Angalo McVay; brother, Melvin (Joan) Smith of Mansfield; and special nephew, Glenn Wise of Sandusky and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold E. Smith in 1928, Floyd G. Smith in 1970 and Erma L. Wise in 2003.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. Ken Conley will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
