Billie Jane Green, age 90, of Castalia, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born March 19, 1925, in Cleveland and graduated from Brecksville High School.
Following high school, Billie earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1947. Billie was the office manager for her late husband's (Dr. James E. Green) doctor's office . She also owned and operated TAG industries and designed costumes for Towne and Country Theatre. Billie was a huge animal lover, and contributed to many animal organizations and charities; her favorite being the Heifer International. She loved sewing, reading, marine biology, and all the sciences, and she also loved to travel and play the piano.
She is survived by her daughter Gretchen (Kenneth) Miller; son Patrick Green; daughter-in-law Cynthia Green; six grandchildren Antoinette, Harrison, and Mercedes Miller, and David, William, and Marcus Green; and four great grandchildren Mackenzie Todd, David Green, Christian Green, and Joshua Green.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James E. Green; son Timothy Green; parents William and Anna (Dusek) Metzel; and sister Alene Cummins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 2 PM in Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
