Howard Junior Williams, 91, of Bellevue and formerly of Seneca County died Monday, November 30, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 17, 1924 in Thompson Township, Seneca County, Ohio the son of Howard A. and Rachel Marie (Gooding) Williams.
Howard was a 1943 graduate of Thompson School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Europe during World War II in the 75th Infantry Div. and the 289th Infantry Regiment. He worked at the Whirlpool Corporation in Clyde until his retirement 1989. He was a skilled and expert carpenter, as many in the area can attest. He was an avid fisherman, and was much loved and will be missed by many.
Howard is survived by his wife, Anna F. (Setzler), whom he married June 21, 1947; four daughters: Cynthia Crecelius, Linda (Roger) Laird, Jeanne (Gerald) Nailor, and Teresa (Roy) Ziegler; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert S. Williams.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Wall and Alta Groman; and brothers, Wenzel Williams and Richard Williams.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 13525 Twp Rd. 178, Bellevue, Ohio. Military Honors provided by the VFW Post 1238, American Legion Post 46 and the United States Army will begin at the conclusion of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Block Cemetery.
