Mark W. Straka Sr.

Mark W. Straka Sr., 64, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in his home.

He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, lived in St Clair Shores, Michigan, and moved to this area in 1968.

Mark was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a 1969 graduate of St. Paul High School. Mark was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Willard Moose, Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS of Sandusky, Ohio, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus #626, Norwalk, Ohio. Mark was a former employee of Box Board Packaging and Furnco.

He enjoyed listening to the Beatles, Beatles trivia, and music trivia. He also enjoyed watching pro wrestling, spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting and school events.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Nancy L. (Rupp) Straka, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sons, Larry (Kristal) Straka, Mark W. Straka Jr., Edward (E.J.) ( Anna) Straka, and David K. Straka, all of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his mother, Olga Straka, of Norwalk, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John, Tori, Tim, and Ella, by his sisters, Mary Ellin (Charles) Brown, of Norwalk, Ohio, Milissa Straka (Dale Piotkowski) of Commerce Township, Michigan, by his sister in law, Karen Straka, of Chicago, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

Mark is preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Straka in 1987, by his brother, Michael E. Straka in 1993, and by a granddaughter, Zoe Straka, in 2014.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
