Westley N. Grove, 62, of Sandusky, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 3, 2015, in Reading, PA, while visiting family and friends.
He was born on April 11, 1953 in Reading, PA, to the late Gilbert and Josephine (Martin) Grove.
Wes graduated from Reading High School, and after graduation he served in the U.S. Army, with an honorable discharge in 1975.
He was an avid sports fan. Wes was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan till the end. He also had a deep passion for cooking, dancing, fishing, crabbing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Wes leaves to mourn his passing, daughters, Tanequa (Terrance) Phillips Moore, Vermilion, OH, and Tracy Crowder, Aberdeen, MD; son, Vincent M. (Sarita) Phillips, Waldorf, MD; wife, Ernestine "E. Bonnie" Grove, Sandusky; brothers, Gilbert L. Grove, Shillington, PA, Mitchell T. Grove, Temple, PA, and George M. Grove, Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Virginia L. Grove and Alice L. Grove, both of Brigantine, NJ; step sisters, Ann Logan, Washingtom, D.C., Pearl Jordan, Front Royal, VA, Lois Fitzhugh, Mitchellville, MD, and Marguerite Jordan, Camp Springs, MD; step brother, Coolidge Groves, Front Royal, VA; several grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his twin daughter, Tameka Lennis Phillips; sister, Lillie I. Grove; brother, James J. Grove; step brothers, Ronald H. Martin and David L. Martin.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 7-9 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 P.M. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Herman Robinson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The Marines Forever Honor Guard will provide a military tribute.
