David R. Williams, 68, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, December 7, 2015 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio.
He was born January 26, 1947 in North Plainfield, New Jersey to the late John R. and Betty (Seigle) Williams.
David came to this area in 1968 from North Plainfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. David was a member of United Auto Workers Local #913 of Sandusky, Ohio. He was a former employee of Delphi (General Motors) in Sandusky, Ohio. David was a patrolman for the Monroeville Police Department from 1971 to 1973, and Chief of the Monroeville Police Department from 1973 to 1978. He enjoyed deer hunting and cutting wood.
David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda A. (Duffey) Williams of Norwalk, Ohio, by his son, Dale R. Williams of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his grandson, Devin J. Williams. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Lynda) Williams of Pennsylvania, and John (Jane) Williams of Marysville, Ohio, and by his sister, Debra Kath of Norwalk, Ohio.
Friends may call on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p .m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Brightman Cemetery, Bronson Twp., Norwalk, Ohio.
