Paul Edward Smith, 78, of Bellevue, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015 at Lutheran Memorial Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 21, 1937 in Williamson, WV to the late Lee and Louise (Maynard) Smith.
Paul received his GED from Sandusky High School in 1978. He was employed at Norfolk Southern Railroad where he retired after 28 years of service. Paul was a member of Sandusky Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a member of Sleepy Hollow Golf Club for over 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Meyer) Smith, whom he married on August 27, 1955; his daughter, Paula (Kevin) Kohles of Berrien Springs, MI; two sons, Mark of Bellevue and Greg (Beri) Smith of Mount Vernon, OH; six grandchildren, Trevor, Michael, Corey, Kayla, Stacy, and Ryan (Shannon); four great-grandchildren, Keira, Eli, Rory and Carmen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Including his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Sue Smith; four brothers, Roy, Frank, James and Olin Smith; and his sister, Juanita Tinsley.
A memorial service in Paul's honor will be held Sunday, December 13, 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3204 Venice Road, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory are handling the arrangements.
